Park
Overview
The Crater Lake RV
Park is a great place to have a forest camping experience
but still have the convenience of your RV. Our Park
is modeled after US Forest Service campgrounds, yet
is designed for Big Rigs with all the modern conveniences
and deep, widely spaced sites among the mature pine,
fir and cedar trees. It's always cool and quiet at
night for great sleeping! The absolute best base-camp
for the Crater Lake National Park and the abundance
of awesome attractions unknown to most vistors coming
to the area for the first time!
Organized Groups or
RV Clubs are welcome at the Crater Lake RV Park. We
try to arrange group members around our group fire
circle area which can accommodate social get togethers,
camp fires, pot lucks, group meetings, etc.
Most indivual RV sites have specially designated areas for use with our firepits. Fire safety is a priority at the Crater Lake RV Park. We kept the trees and have pine needles on the ground to control the pumice dust, so fires are only allowed in our firepits with our well-seasoned wood. Oregon's policy is "Buy it where you burn it!" and a moderately priced big bundle of firewood, cut and split by us, is enough for 2-3 nights of nice ambiance fires. Because of fire danger, smoking is only permitted in or beside your rig and cigarette butts on the ground in the Park or on the trail are cause for eviction. For the safety of everyone, please be fire aware.
In the summer season,
unless reserved for an organized group, Saturday nights
are Park campfire nights! We provide a great campfire
experience for all of our guests to enjoy at our center
fire circle by the antique chuckwagon and our rustic
theater. Come roast hot dogs and/or marshmallows,
make a smore and have some lemonade while you enjoy
the musical entertainment ... all on us!
Calling all Fisherman!
The first dam on the upper Rogue River is just a 2-minute
walk on the trail from your rig. There you can catch
brown trout and rainbow trout either just for fun
or for that night's dinner! Within short drives, there
are more fishing spots than can be counted, as well
as a huge near by lake and salmon fishing just below
it.
While families with
children are welcome, our Park is not designed for
"extremely active children" (i.e. no playgrounds).
Therefore, well-behaved children with responsible
parents can enjoy our Park along with the Guests without
children. Though we have no play area, many children
do enjoy riding their bikes on our roads around the
Park as well as enjoying the campfire activities mentioned
above. For the safety of both children and pets (mentioned
below) as well as everyone else, we strictly enforce
a 5-mph speed limit on vehicles ... no exceptions!
Well behaved (non-aggressive) dogs are welcome with responsible owners! We do require that dogs be kept leashed for their safety and the safety of others. Dog owners please remember to pick up after your pet both in the Park and on the trails.
